XRP Slides Under $1.32 — The $1.25 Zone Traders Are Watching
XRP has given up ground and is now trading just under $1.32, a level that had held for much of the past week.
What the Slide Actually Signals for XRP Holders
The drop to $1.317–$1.318 on Binance’s XRP/USDT pair on Oct. 15 wasn’t dramatic on its own, but it marked the third straight session of lower highs. Daily momentum indicators have rolled over, and the token is sitting right on its short-term trendline. That combination tends to invite a test of the next visible support rather than a quick bounce.
Analyst Ali Martinez flagged the $1.25 area as the likely next stop. He sees any dip there as a potential springboard back toward $1.42 and, if that clears, $1.60. The levels line up with prior volume clusters and the 0.5 and 0.618 retracement marks from the September rally. Why does that matter? Because plenty of leveraged long positions were added above $1.35 last week, and a run to $1.25 would flush some of them out.
Why the Timing Lines Up With Broader Crypto Weakness
The move lower didn’t come out of nowhere. Bitcoin has been stuck in a narrow range since early October, and altcoins have followed in its wake. XRP took a hit alongside the rest of the majors once risk appetite cooled after the latest U.S. jobs data. Lower-beta names usually feel these shifts first, and XRP’s beta to BTC has stayed elevated since the summer.
October has also brought lighter spot volumes across most exchanges. When liquidity thins, even modest selling can push prices through obvious levels faster than usual. That’s the setup we’re in now: not a panic, just a slow grind lower with fewer bids underneath.
Positioning data from major derivatives platforms shows net long exposure still elevated despite the price action. Open interest hasn’t contracted much, which suggests traders are waiting rather than liquidating. A clean sweep to $1.25 would likely change that. If the level holds on the first test, we could see shorts cover quickly and push price back above $1.35 within a session or two. If it breaks, the next visible shelf sits near $1.18.
There’s no guarantee this trend continues, especially with U.S. regulatory headlines still capable of moving the token on short notice. Watch your position sizing here.
